Monster Wishes

Hi everyone!

I have made a few cards lately but have not had the chance to post them. It is Easter break here so our life is hectic with a full house! Fun times...

This card was for a friend of my son, turning 7. Watercoloring is in trend at the moment so I have been experimenting with it. On this card, I kep it to minimum as I did not have much time, so only used watercolour for the grass....

J'ai fait quelques cartes ces derniers temps mais je n'ai pas encore eu le temps de les poster sur ce blog. Ce sont les vacances de Paques ici  et les journées sont bien chargées!

Cette carte est pour un enfant de 7ans. J'ai voulu tester l'aquarelle, qui est en vogue en ce moment. Pour cette carte, je n'ai que fait l'herbe en peinture, par manque de temps...

Birthday boy

Hi! I had to make a card in no time today...And the idea came to me instantly: use resist technique with inks.

I have  stamped and embossed the robot image (one of my favorite for boy's birthdays!). I then used two Distress Inks with a bit of water and I brushes it over it. In the middle the two colors (yellow and blue) combined to give a green. I added some notes as embellishment, rounded the corners and added yellow brads.

But I could not resist trying my brand new tool!!! I have been looking at We R Memory Keeper envelop Punch Board for a few weeks, and finally ordered it. It arrived this week and I have loved playing with it. It basically helps creates envelop for ANY size of cards, allowing for nice matching envelopped in patterned paper.... I love it!

Bonjour! Ce matin j'ai du faire une carte en un temps record...L'idée m'est venue instantanément: utiliser la technique "resist" et embossage a l'encire (Distress Ink). J'ai aussi arrondi les angles et ajouté des attaches jaunes et notes de musiques en plastique. Et voila, le tour est joué!

Vous noterez aussi l'enveloppe qui l'accompagne, faite a partir de papier vert a poids...Je me suis offert un outil que je convoitais deja depuis plusieurs semaines...et il est arrivé cette semaine. Cet outil permet de faire des enveloppes de n'importe quelle taille, super, j'adore! D'autant plus que j'utilise souvent des cartes de taille non standard. Et en plus, on peut utiliser du joli papier coordonné. Pour voir une vidéo de cet outil, allez sur le site de W R Memory Keeper.

Hidden birthday message

This card was made for the 12th birthday of my nepheu. His birthday gift: a beautiful canevas frame for his bedroom. The right hand side of the frame on the card slids and a hidden message shows up "Voucher for a frame of your choice"....We went shopping soon after :-).

Une carte faite pour mon neveu pour ses 12 ans. Son cadeau: un super tableau pour sa chambre!
Cette carte etait une annoncé pour son cadeau. Le coté droit se coulisse et un message s'ouvre, style "Bon pour un tableau de ton choix". On n'a pas trainé pour aller faire les magasins!  :-)

Small present...

This was made for a little boy, whose birthday was today. Just a little surprise after school...before his proper Birthday party this coming week end!

Have a Monster Birthday

This card was made from scratch...I reproduced the image from a drawing, stamped all the stars indivdually, and used a stencil to draw the "5" using stickles glitter glue. Fun card to make for a little boy!

Cette carte a ete faite a partir d'un support blanc. J'ai reproduit l'image en copiant d'un magazine, tamponne les etoiles une a une, et dessine le chiffre "5" en utilisant un pochoir et de la colle avec paillettes bleues. Une carte rigolote a faire pour un petit garcon!

Jubilee Week End birthday party

Today my son is going to a birthday part for a little girl, Ellie. The theme is knights and castles! He had fun making this card, and matching gift paper, with Yanis. We decided to use the Jubilee colours for the card, and he had the idea of mixing them on each stamp. We had a great time!

Cet apres midi Yanis est invite a feter un anniversaire d'une petite fille. Le theme est l'epoque feodale, chateaux forts et chevaliers. On s'est amuses a faire cette carte, ainsi que le papier cadeau assorti. On a decide d'utliser les couleurs du Jubilee pour la carte... :-)
